Scott Mularz | Assistant Baseball Coach

Scott Mularz started on the Panthers' coaching staff in 2017 as the pitching coach. He has eight years experience in college coaching.

In 2017, Mularz's pitching staff posted a 2.68 ERA, leading the USA South and second in NCAA Division III. The Panthers' led the conference and the nation with a 1.99 walks allowed per nine innings. Ryan Broaderick earned ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors, while being named the USA South Pitcher of the Year and the ABCA/Rawlings South All-Region Pitcher of the Year. Freshman Ritchie Post was the USA South Rookie Pitcher of the Year. Seniors Jonathan Fleckenstein and Andrew Weekley earned USA South All-Conference honors, along with being named to the ABCA/Rawlings South All-Region and D3baseball.com All-South Region teams. 

Mularz was at Southern Polytechnic State before coming to LaGrange. At Southern Poly, the team advanced to the NAIA World Series, finishing the season 46-19. Mularz coached the Southern States Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year and two All-Conference performers.

He began his college coaching career at Huntingdon College. In five seasons, Mularz coached an All-American, four All-South Region players, and had 12 selected as All-Conference. In addition, under Mularz, Huntingdon had two each Great South Athletic Conference Pitchers of the Year and Freshman of the Year. 

A Montgomery, Ala. native, Mularz is a graduate of Jeff Davis High School. He was a three-year starter and earned All-State honors twice and selected to the All-Metro team three times. As a senior pitcher, he set the Alabama Class 6A state record for wins in a season with 16. He finished his high school career with a 28-4 record.

Mularz played two seasons at South Alabama University. He was 6-0 at South Alabama with a pair of saves and was a member of the 2002 Sun Belt conference championship team. He finished his collegiate career at Auburn-Montgomery, where he helped lead the Senators to the NAIA World Series in 2006. He was on the mound for 17 victories and three saves in his two seasons as AUM won 100 games during that span.

He is married to the former Elizabeth Barnes and they have a son, Easton.

Nick Beamenderfer | Assistant Coach

Nick Beamenderfer has been an assistant coach on the Panther’s coaching staff for three seasons.  This past season, Beamenderfer helped guide the Panther’s to a 40-6 record, the USA South regular season and tournament championships, along with a trip to the NCAA South Regional. Beamenderfer will assist the Panthers in defense, hitting, and recruiting. He will also be the head JV coach.

Beamenderfer played two years at LaRoche (Pa.) College before transferring to St. Vincent. He earned All-Conference honors as a senior, hitting .327. Beamenderfer graduated from St. Vincent with a degree in Business Management.

During the summer of 2013, Beamenderfer was an assistant coach for the collegiate summer league in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He is pursing a master's degree in Philanthropy and Development from LaGrange College.
Beamenderfer is a native of Lewistown, Pa.  He was a three-year letterman at Lewistown High School, earning All-Conference honors as a junior and senior.
